Hello
Thank you for choosing KinderSteps Child Care as your family's choice in child care. I
am a licensed, and credentialed family child care provider with the State of Maryland.  My license is issued by
the Maryland State Department of Education.
I currently hold active certifications in child development and guidance, early childhood
education, ADHD, new parenting, preschool emotions, social skills, nutrition, associate play in preschoolers, and school readiness,
infant and children's health & safety, SIDS, special needs, infant & children's CPR and First Aid, and AED.
My passion is early childhood education. I also have 12 years of experience as a parent and 6 years working
in pediatric medicine at Georgetown Hospital.
I am the mother of three beautiful children, Jordan, 12, Camryn, 9, and Bryson 6
years old.  I retired early from Georgetown Hospital to care for our first child, Jordan Maxwell when he was
only 16 months old.  Jordan suffered with asthma and bronchitis from birth. That first year, I saw many waiting
rooms of doctor's offices due to Jordan's asthma.
As a pediatric nurse I was well equipped to care for him medically.  As a mom,
I was faced with what was best for my son.  Leaving work was an adjustment for me financially and otherwise.  I
had to re-evaluate who I was to support the most important roll I now played, MOM.  Needless to say Jordan's asthma was
controlled and he grew happy and healthy very soon.
Three years later our daughter, Camryn Ashley, was born.  As a mom of two then,
I made the transition slowly. Three years later Bryson was born. That's right, they're all three years
apart(smile).  Now I was a fulltime, at home, mom of three.  I decided it was time for me to push forward again
in my caring for children.  It has been my passion and area of education since I was a young adult.
Being a preschool teacher allows me to be there for my own children and assist
other parents in the care of their children.  I have also had the experience and joy of homeschooling my children.  Prior
to deciding to become a licensed child care provider, I have cared for numerous friends and family members children, and also
assist other licensed childcare providers in the structure of their businesses.  I have also given lectures at Prince
Georges Community College to students seeking their Associates Degree on running a successful child care
business. My property has been child proofed, licensed and register with
the Maryland State Office of Child Care and the Maryland State Fire Marshall's office.  If you're interested in scheduling
